FROM THE VAULT: AN INTERVIEW WITH STEVE BALBI

Steve Balbi played bass in the hit Australian band Noiseworks, and was also in Electric Hippies along with fellow Noiseworkser Justin Stanley.

Balbi began performing live in a band with his cousins called The Apaches, who performed “Fox On The Run” on the talent show PotOfGold in 1976. Awards he has received for his work with Noiseworks include three ARIA Double Platinum certifications and three Gold records.

In 2006, Balbi began a new original project, Move Trees, which featured Scott Aplin, Pete Skelton and Doug Aplin. In 2007, Move Trees joined Noiseworks on the road during their Australian tour.

October 2009 saw the latest Solo release from Balbi, “I Found You”, which was released on UK label Foundry Records.
