From BB to Bonamassa, Slash to Slayer, pretty much every rock, metal and blues guitarist who ever played a solo uses string bends – you don’t need us to tell you that! A humble technique it may be, but it’s also a tricky one. Even something as simple as replacing your strings with a lighter- or heaviergauge set can be enough to affect how you bend. Basically, it’s a matter of developing a feel for how far to bend, all the while keeping your ear attuned to tell you when you hit the sweet spot.
