Easy a says Focal
The ‘Easya’ is a new system from French manufacturer Focal that comprises a pair of active three-driver, two-and-a-half way loudspeakers (an 85-watt amplifier is built inside each cabinet) and a wireless ‘Hub’ that sends all the source material via digital transmitter (using Kleer technology) to the speakers. Each of the Easya speakers has a 130mm polyglass-coned bass driver, a 130mm diameter polyglass-coned bass/ midrange driver and a 25mm-diameter TNV2 aluminium/magnesium inverted dome tweeter with a Poron surround suspension. ‘ Easya embodies all the traits of a 100 per cent Focal-quality, high-fidelity loudspeaker providing a seamless soundstage with admirable spatialisation, an essential quality to ensure your listening pleasure,’ said Nigel Macara, of Audio Marketing, which distributes Focal in Australia. ‘ The installation and use of Easya correspond perfectly with the new uses of dematerialised music: everything is directly built into the loudspeaker, so external amplifiers are no longer required, and the only cable you need to plug in is the 240V mains power cable.’ The curvaceous design of the Easya was imagined by design firm Pineau & Le Porcher. You can connect all your audio sources to the Hub: CD/MP3/DVD/BD player, games console, computer and tablet, so it can transmit their sound to the speakers in CD quality without any compression or loss of quality. You can also play music direct from portable devices that use Bluetooth aptX. Focal supplies a remote control to make it easy to control the Hub: play/stop, source selector, volume, activate Bluetooth, and playlist management. The Focal Easya system is available now in either a gloss black or a gloss white finish, for $3,499 (RRP).
