Clearaudio ConCept Wood
Clearaudio’s entrylevel Concept turntable package is now available with a stunning ‘wood sandwich’ finish. Clearaudio’s original Concept turntable was elegantly styled and combined plug-andplay simplicity with high sound quality and affordability, such that it holds the record as the company’s most successful Clearaudio turntable to date, and has won What Hi-Fi? Sound & Vision award three times running. The new Concept Wood takes the range further both visually and sonically, with multi-layer wood construction and a magnetic bearing tonearm that comes factory-fitted with your choice of either a high-quality moving-magnet cartridge or an evenhigher-quality moving-coil cartridge. The new Concept Wood is also ‘plug-n-play’ with all adjustments already completed at the Clearaudio factory, right down to the tracking and antiskating force adjustments.
The new Clearaudio Concept Wood has a two-piece Delrin platter that’s 30mm thick and can be set to rotate at 33.33, 45 and 78rpm via a simple turn of a speed dial. Rotation takes place atop a polished tempered steel bearing shaft within sintered bronze bushings and on a mirror-polished Teflon thrust pad. Drive is via a belt-driven by a decoupled d.c. motor. Pricing is $2,995 for the MM Package and $3,895 for the MC Package. The Concept will continue to be available with a standard black chassis, with package pricing at $2,495 (MM) and $3,195 (MC).
