Three New Yamaha amps

-

Yamaha has reinvigorated its hi-fi range by adding three new integrated stereo amplifiers to it, the Yamaha A-S701, A-S501 and A-S301. The three new models bob in the wake of Yamaha’s launch of its flagship S3000 Series last year and its more recent release of its S2100 Series Stereo Components. ‘ Benchmarked against this distinguished pedigree, Yamaha engineers have instilled the company’s ethos of ‘Natural Sound’ and a wealth of musical expertise into the A-S701, A-S501 and A-S301 so as to deliver exceptional hi-fi performance and quality at affordable price points,’ said Justin d’Offay, of Yamaha Music Australia. ‘ With a beautifully simple design which provides subtle glimpses of Yamaha’s hi-fi components of yesteryear, the new range epitomises luxury and ease-of-use with a silver hairline finish on its aluminium front panel and precisely-machined control knobs.’ All models use Yamaha’s ‘ToP-ART’ amplifier design technology in which the left and right channels are arranged in a direct, symmetrical layout, and a tough, anti-resonant base is used to reinforce the chassis to damp vibrations. They also have a ‘Pure Direct’ mode which bypasses the buffer amp and tone, loudness and balance controls. The A-S701 also adds a CD Direct mode which Yamaha says maximises the signal-to-noise ratio of CD sources to provide a superior listening experience. All amplifiers are available now. The Yamaha A-S701 retails for $1,099, the Yamaha A-S501 for $799 and the A-S301 for $599. All come with a two-year warranty and all are available in either silver or black.
