Len Wallis Audio is now selling JL Audio subwoofers in-store, as a result of Managing Director, Len Wallis’ recent experience at the Munich Hi-End Show. ‘ One of the reasons for my visiting Munich was to unearth a premium subwoofer brand which would sit comfortably above our highly respected Sunfire range,’ said Wallis. ‘ After thoroughly examining and researching the various brands on offer, and numerous visits to JL Audio’s stand, the choice became obvious because I was not only impressed by the demonstrations given, but also by the company’s unmistakable commitment to quality—both in terms of build and performance.’

Len Wallis Audio will be ranging the complete JL Fathom range of free-standing subwoofers, starting with the JL Audio Fathom F112 V3, which is a 1,500 watt sealed enclosure design using a 300mm driver. ‘ The concept of a front-firing, fully enclosed (non-ported) subwoofer is very appealing given the current trend towards building (multiple) subwoofers into cabinetwork in dedicated theatre environments,’ said Wallis. ‘ Their superb performance only heightens this appeal.’

Len Wallis Audio will also be ranging JL Audio’s in-wall subwoofers, of which there are two: a 203mm/300-watt model and a 343mm/1,000 watt version. Both are substantial in size, measuring almost 1.8 metres in height, but since they will fit inside a traditional stud wall, size is not really an issue. ‘ While many companies offer in-wall subwoofers, thanks to their high quality standards combined with proprietary, patented technologies, the JL Audio range stands head and shoulders above the vast majority,’ said Wallis.

Wallis says that while the store has access to JL Audio’s entire catalogue, he intended to concentrate on those models in the line-up that are of primary interest based on the store’s experience with the Australian market and its clientele, so only selected models would be available for demonstration in-store at the Len Wallis Audio Showroom at 64 Burns Bay Road, Lane Cove, NSW.
