COPLAND CSA70 INTEGRATED
Copland has released a new, smaller, integrated amplifier that unlike its larger counterparts, the CSA100 and CSA150, does not use valves in its line stage, although it does use the same solid-state power amplifier technology as those models with a feedback structure the company claims is inherently faster than conventional amplifiers and delivers a wide large-signal frequency response. “Created for the dedicated music lover, the Copland CSA70 is designed to provide exceptional audio performance that belies both its power rating and its price,” said Aleksandar Maksimovic, of Audio Magic, which distributes Copland in Australia. “It has been designed specifically to deal with the most awkward of dynamic loads that may be presented by any loudspeakers, including the ability to drive impedances of just 2 , as well as to have an excellent transient handling capability.”
The CSA70 is fitted with sophisticated protection circuitry that guards against multiple fault conditions that could be dangerous to either the amplifier or the connected speakers, including d.c. offset, over-current conditions and thermal overload. The Copland CSA70 amplifier is rated with an output of 70-watts per channel into 8 and has four digital inputs, three analogue line-level inputs, a MM phono input, a line-out function, a pre-out terminal, and a front-panel-mounted 6.35mm headphone socket. Available now, it sells for $4,900 (RRP).
