M&K SOUND V+ SERIES

M&K Sound has introduced three new compact, lifestyle-friendly, high-performance subwoofers, the V15+, V12+ and V10+, with 15-inch, 12-inch and 10-inch drivers, respectively. Two of the models are THX-certified and M&K App-enabled. These new models follow on from the release of the X15+, X12+ and X10+ models [See Australian Hi-Fi Jan-Feb 2022].

“With ever more demand for reference bass performance in living rooms and small home cinemas, M&K Sound realised it was time to overhaul its hugely successful V Series subwoofers to develop a new V+ Series for a wider, décor-conscious and discerning audience,” said Paul Riachi, of Indi Imports, which distributes M&K Sound in Australia. “The V15+ has achieved THX Certified Ultra status and the 12-inch V12+ has achieved THX Certified Select status. The THX seal of excellence verifies that consumers can enjoy movie soundtracks exactly as their directors intended.”

The V15+ is new to the V Series range, and is also the first V Series subwoofer to use a 15-inch driver. The V10+ and V12+ have had their deep bass frequency response extended from 25Hz to 20Hz and the power output of their Class-D amplifiers increased, from 200-watts to 300-watts for the V10+ and from 300-watts to 400-watts for the V12+, over the original V Series models. All three subwoofers use treated, reinforced paper cones in sealed, anti-resonant enclosures.

Both the V15+ and V12+ subwoofers are able to be configured from the comfort of your listening position using the free M&K App that’s available for Apple and Android. This App allows you to use your phone or tablet to adjust volume, crossover frequency, delay and phase, plus you can equalise the frequency response of the subwoofer to exactly suit your listening room’s acoustics, either manually or by using M&K Sound’s ‘Auto EQ’ circuitry.

“With their multiple useful features, exquisite design, powerful, enhanced performance, and newly developed magnetized front grilles, the V+ Series subwoofers represent optimised ergonomics and performance packages for audio aficionados and casual listeners alike,” said Riachi, “with a size to bestsuit any sized room.” All models in the V+ series are available in a stylish Black Satin finish but the V10+ and V12+ models are additionally available in a luxury White Satin finish. The M&K Sound V10+ subwoofer is available now, at $2,499 (RRP). The V12+ ($2,999) and V15+ ($3,499) subwoofers go on sale in April.
