Sennheiser made quite the splash at January’s CES show, launching not one but three new products — including the latest member of its iconic Momentum range.

The Momentum True Wireless 4 wireless earbuds ($499.95) replace the excellent True Wireless 3, building on their skillset with “more than a dozen enhancements” alongside “larger-than-life sound”.

Those enhancements come courtesy of Qualcomm’s S5 Sound Gen 2 chip and associated Snapdragon Sound Technology for aptX Lossless codec support and ultra-low latency capabilities. There’s also support for Bluetooth 5.4 and Auracast, the promise of improved ANC, and an above-par battery life o–ering 7.5 hours of listening on a single charge, extending to 30 hours with the charging case. Arriving alongside them are the new Accentum Plus wireless over-ears ($399.95), designed as a step up from the mid-range Accentum Wireless. These Bluetooth 5.2-enabled headphones aim to “emphasise outstanding sound quality, battery life and versatile connectivity” all while supporting the aptX Adaptive codec. They also o–er up to 50 hours of listening per charge, as well as touch controls on the earcups and adaptive ANC for adjusting noise cancelling depending on the environment. The final member of the new trio is arguably the most interesting... for fitness fiends anyway. The new (and unusually premium for their kind)

Momentum Sport wireless earbuds ($529.95) promise “pulse-pounding Sennheiser sound” while integrating both heart rate and body rate sensors that can send data directly to your favourite health monitoring and fitness apps and trackers. You’ll even be able to use the Polar Flow app to get insight into your own data analytics and biological metrics. Cool stu–.

To minimise noise from things like footsteps and heavy breathing, the sporty buds’ acoustic chamber allows for environmental awareness without distractions. Noise cancellation is present and correct with transparency and anti-wind modes onboard. They’re IP55 water-resistant and shock-proof for greater durability, too, with total battery life an Iron Man-friendly 24 hours.
