ARTIST’S HINTS AND TIPS
• You do not need many brushes. A range of four good quality brushes with sharp points will do. They do not need to be Sable, but invest in quality.
• Use artists’ quality paints because the quality of cheaper brands will not give you the full depth of concentrated colours. Buy the best quality you can afford. Five to ten varying colours will give you a good start.
• Good quality watercolour paper is a must. Try several brands to find what suits you best. There are several brands of good quality papers. Select a weight of at least 300 gsm. The heavier papers do not require stretching.
