GETTING STARTED

lace Pattern (multiple of 4 sts)

Row 1: RS – *K2tog, [yo] twice, ssk; rep from * to end.

Row 2: *K1, [k1, p1] into double yo, k1; rep from * to end.

Rep Rows 1-2 for pattern.

Note: In areas where increases and decreases have been made, if you do not have enough sts to work a full 4-st rep of patt, work the extra sts in Gtst (= Garter Stitch – k every row).

WORKING PATTERN Back

With 6.5mm needles, cast on 64 (72, 80, 88, 96) sts.

K 1 row (WS).

Next Row: RS – Beg Lace patt; work even until piece measures 10cm from

beg, end with a WS row.

Dec Row RS: Keeping cont of patt, dec 1 st each end of needle (see Note in Lace patt).

Rep Dec Row every 8 rows 3 more times. 56 (64, 72, 80, 88) sts.

Cont even until piece measures 40.5 (40.5, 42, 42, 43)cm from beg, end with a WS row.

Shape armholes

Cast off 2 (3, 4, 5, 6) sts at beg of next 2 rows. 52 (58, 64, 70, 76) sts. Next Row: RS Dec Row – Keeping cont of patt, dec 1 st each end of needle.

Rep Dec Row every other row 2 (3, 4, 5, 6) more times. 46 (50, 54, 58, 62) sts.

Cont even in patt until armholes measures 16.5 (18, 19, 21, 22)cm, end with a WS row.

Shape Back Neck and Shoulders Next Row: RS – Patt 10 (11, 12,

14, 15) sts, join new yarn and cast off centre 26 (28, 30, 30, 32) sts purlwise, patt to end. 10 (11, 12, 14, 15) sts each side.

Right Shoulder: Cast off purlwise on WS. left Shoulder: Rejon yarn and work a WS row. Cast off knitwise on RS. Armholes measures 18 (19, 20.5, 22, 23.5) cm.

FRONT

Work as for Back until armholes measures 11.5 (12.5, 14, 16, 17)cm, end with a WS row.

Shape Front Neck

Next Row: RS – Patt 13 (14, 15,

17, 18) sts, join new yarn and cast off centre 20 (22, 24, 24, 26) sts purlwise, patt to end. 13 (14, 15, 17, 18) sts each side.

Working both sides at once from separate balls, dec 1 st at each neck edge on next RS row and every other row twice more. 10 (11, 12, 14, 15) sts each side.

Patt even until armholes measures same as for Back.

Cast off all sts purlwise on WS row and knitwise on RS row.

Sleeves

With 6.5mm needles, cast on 36 (36, 40, 40, 44) sts.

K 1 row (WS).

Next Row: RS – Beg Lace patt; work even for 6 rows, end with a WS row. Next Row: RS – Dec Row – Keeping cont of patt, dec 1 st each end of needle.

Rep Dec Row every 6 (6, 6, 12, 12) rows 2 (2, 2, 1, 1) more time(s). 30 (30, 34, 36, 40) sts.

Patt even until piece measures 22cm from beg, end with a WS row.

Next Row: RS – Inc Row – Keeping cont of patt, inc 1 st each end of needle by working K1f&b into first and last st.

Rep Inc Row every 6 (4, 6, 4, 4) rows 2 (7, 1, 7, 7) more times, then every 4 (0, 4, 2, 2) rows

4 (0, 6, 1, 1) times. 44 (46, 50,

54, 58) sts.

Patt even in patt until piece measures 45.5 (45.5, 47, 47, 47)cm from beg, end with a WS row.

Shape Cap

Cast off 2 (3, 4, 5, 6) sts at beg of next 2 rows. 40 (40, 42, 44, 46) sts. Next Row: RS – Dec Row – Keeping cont of patt, dec 1 st each end of needle.

Rep Dec Row every other row 5 (5, 6, 7, 8) more times. 28 sts.

Cast off 2 sts at beg of next 4 rows. 20 sts.

Cast off rem sts.

MAKING UP

Block pieces to measuremen­ts.

Sew shoulder seams. Sew side and sleeve seams.

Set in sleeves.
