C6F – slip 3 sts to cn and hold at front of work k3, k3 from cn.

TENSION

20 sts by 26 rows over Stst on 4.5mm needles to 10cm

WORKING PATTERN HAT

With 4mm needles and MC, cast on 96 (108) sts.

Row 1: RS - *K2, p2; rep from * to end. Row 2: As row 1.

Rib for 7.5 (9)cm, end with a WS row and inc 1 st at centre of last row to 97 (109) sts.

Change to 4.5mm needles.

Row 1: RS – MC k1; [MC k2, A k1, MC k3] 16 (18) times.

Row 2: [MC p3, A p1, MC p2] 16 (18) times; MC p1.

Row 3: MC k1; [MC k1, A k3, MC k2] 16 (18) times.

Row 4: [MC p2, A p3, MC p1] 16 (18) times; MC p1.

Row 5: MC k1; [A k5, MC k1] 16 (18) times.

Row 6: [MC p1, A p5] 16 (18) times; MC p1.

Rows 7-12: Use col B instead of MC and C instead of A.

Rep these 12 rows 2 times more.

Size 12-14 years only Rep rows 1-6 once.
