Row 1: RS – P1 (1, 0, 0, 0), (k1, p1) 15 (18, 21, 24, 27) times; pm; (k3, p4) 5 times, k3; pm; (p1, k1) 15 (18, 21, 24, 27) times, p1 (1, 0, 0, 0). Row 2: K1 (1, 0, 0, 0), (p1, k1) 15 (18, 21, 24, 27) times; pm; (p3, k4) 5 times, p3; pm; (k1, p1) 15 (18, 21, 24, 27) times, k1 (1, 0, 0, 0).

Rep these 2 rows 5 times more. Change to 4.5mm needles.

Beg Cable Panel

Row 1: RS – P31 (37, 42, 48, 54) sts; pm; work row 1 of 38 sts of Cable Panel; pm; p31 (37, 42, 48, 54) sts.

Row 2: K31 (37, 42, 48, 54) sts; pm; work row 2 of 38 sts of Cable Panel; pm; k31 (37, 42, 48, 54) sts. Cont in this manner, working centre 38 sts in Cable Panel patt and rem sts on either side in reverse Stst until piece measures 66 (68, 70, 71, 72)cm from beg, end with a WS row.

Cast off loosely in patt 31 (36, 41, 46, 52) sts beg next 2 rows, leave rem 38 (40, 40, 42, 42) sts on holder for back neck.

FRONT

Work as for Back until piece measures 59 (61, 62, 63, 64) cm from beg, end with a WS row.

Shape Neck

Next Row: RS – Patt 39 (44, 49, 55, 61) sts, turn, on these sts only.

Dec 1 st at neck edge next 8 (8, 8, 9, 9) rows. 31 (36, 41, 46, 52) sts.

Cont straight until front measures same as back to shoulder, end with a WS row. Cast off rem 31 (36, 41, 46, 52) sts for shoulder.

With RSF return to sts on hold, slip next 22 (24, 24, 24, 24) sts onto stitch holder; rejoin yarn and work 2nd half to match.

SLEEVES

With 4mm needles, cast on 48 (50, 52, 52, 52) sts.

Row 1: RS – P1 (0, 1, 1, 1), (k1, p1) 9 (10, 10, 10, 10) times; pm; k3, p4, k3; pm; (p1, k1) 9 (10, 10, 10, 10, 10) times, p1 (0, 1, 1, 1).

Row 2: K1 (0, 1, 1, 1), (p1, k1) 9 (10, 10, 10, 10) times; pm; p3, k4, p3; pm; (k1, p1) 9 (10, 10, 10, 10, 10) times, k1 (0, 1, 1, 1).

Rep these 2 rows 5 times more. Change to 4.5mm needles.

Beg Cable Panel

Row 1: RS – P19 (20, 21, 21, 21) sts; pm; work row 1 of 10 sts of

Cable Panel; pm; p19 (20, 21, 21, 21) sts.

Row 2: K19 (20, 21, 21, 21) sts; pm; work row 2 of 10 sts of Cable Panel; pm; k19 (20, 21, 21, 21) sts. Cont in this manner, working centre 10 sts in Cable Panel patt and rem sts on either side in reverse Stst and at the same time, inc 1 st each end next row, then every 3rd row 2 (2, 2, 6, 6) times, then every 4th row until 92 (94, 98, 102, 104) sts.

Patt straight until piece measures 45 (45, 46, 47, 48) cm from beg, end with a WS row.

Cast off loosely in patt.

MAKING UP

Join left shoulder seam.

NECKBAND

With RS facing and 4.5mm needles, work the back neck holder sts as following: K0 (1, 1, 0, 0), (p1, k1) 6

(6, 6, 7, 7) times, p2, patt 10, p2, (k1, p1) 6 (6, 6, 7, 7) times, k0 (1, 1, 0,

0), pick up and k 21 (21, 21, 22, 22) sts down front neck edge, work the front neck holder sts as following: k0 (1, 1, 1, 1), (p1, k1) twice, p2, patt 10, p2, (k1, p1) twice, k0 (1, 1, 1, 1), pick up and k 21 (21, 21, 22, 22) sts up front neck edge to shoulder – 102 (104, 106, 110, 110) sts.

Next Row: WS – P1 (0, 0, 1, 1), (k1, p1) 12 (13, 13, 13, 13) times; k2, patt 10, k2; p1, (k1, p1) 18 (19, 19, 20, 20) times; k2, patt 10, k2, rib to end.

Work in this manner for 7 more rows. Work 2 rows as sts appear but eliminate C4F/C4L, k or p those sts instead as they appear (to avoid a cable crossing standing up at the turn of neckband edge).

Next Row: K1, p1 rib over all sts and dec 1 st at centre back and centre front to keep rib even 100 (102, 104, 108, 108) sts.

Rib straight for 7 rows. Cast off loosely in rib.

Join right shoulder and neckband.

Fold neckband in half to WS and sew in place. Place markers 24 (25, 26, 27, 27) cm down from shoulder seam on back and front. Insert sleeve top between markers. Sew side and sleeve seams.
