TENSION

19sts by 23 rows over St st on 4.5mm needles to 10cm

GETTING STARTED

Note 1: decrease 1 st for shaping as follows: at the beginning of RS row, K3, P 2 tog. At the end of RS rows, work to last 5sts P2 tog, K3.

Note 2: decrease 2 sts for shaping as follows: at the beginning of RS row, K3, P 3 tog. At the end of RS rows, work to last 6sts P3 tog, K3.

Note 3: decrease 2 sts for neckline shaping as follows: at the beginning of RS rows, work 3 pattern sts, p3tog. At the end of RS rows, work to last 6sts P3 tog. work 3 pattern sts.

WORKING PATTERN BACK

Using Degrade Sun cast on using

4.5mm needles 97(107, 113, 123) sts Work 4 rows of garter st.

Working in St st until back measures 12cm, decrease 1 st at each edge as given in note 1 above alternatel­y every 10-12 rows 6 times. 85(95, 101, 111) sts

Shape Armholes

When back measures 48cm decrease 2 sts at each edge as given in Note 2 above, in every 2 rows.

S – 5 times

M – 6 times

L – 6 times

XL – 7 times

65(71, 77, 83) sts

After all armhole decreases have been completed work pattern st following graph.

Shape Neckline

When back measure 62(63, 64, 65) cm on next RS row (row 17 of graph) cast off center 29(31, 33, 35) sts purlwise.

Working each side separately, decrease 2 sts at neck edge side separately, decrease 2 sts at neck edge as given in Note 3 above every 2 rows, 3 times. 12(14, 16, 18) sts Note: do not work yarn over on 3 sts at neck edge.

Shoulder

When back measures 68(69, 70, 71) cm cast off all remaining sts.

Work other side to correspond reversing all shaping.

FRONT

Work as for back.

SLEEVES

Using Lino and 6mm needles cast on 43(46, 48, 51) sts

Work 4 rows garter st then work in stocking st until sleeve measures 40cm

Next Row: Decrease at each edge as given in Note 2 and Note 1 above every 2 rows.

S - 2sts 5 times; 1st 8 times

M - 2sts 6 times; 1st 8 times

L - 2sts 6 times; 1st 9 times

XL - 2sts 7 times; 1st 9 times

7(6, 6, 5) sts

When sleeve measure 54.5(55.5, 56.5, 57.5) cm cast off all remaining sts

Work second sleeve to match.

MAKING UP

Carefully block pieces on the WS using steam only. Sew all the seams of garment using side seams. Sew shoulder, side and sleeve seams.
