TENSION

22 sts and 30 rows to 10cm over stocking st, using 4.00mm needles.

GETTING STARTED

Note: Due to the tweedy colour mix of this woollen spun yarn, we recommend working from 2 balls of yarn to ensure an even mix of colour tones. Work 2 rows from 1st ball, then 2 rows from 2nd ball, then 2 rows from 1st ball and so on. Carry yarn loosely up side edge of work.

WORKING PATTERN BACK AND FRONT ALIKE (MAKE 2)

Using 4.00mm needles, cast on 83 (95, 107, 117, 127) sts.

ROW 1: K2, * P1, K1, rep from

* to last st, K1.

ROW 2: K1, * P1, K1, rep from

* to end.

Rep last 2 rows 4 times. 10 rows rib in all.

Cont in stocking st until work measures 26 (27, 28, 28, 29) cm from beg, ending with a purl row.

SHAPE RAGLAN ARMHOLES

Cast off 2 (2, 2, 2, 3) sts at beg of next 2 rows. 79 (91, 103, 113, 121) sts.

Dec one st at each end of next row, then in every foll alt row until 71 (79, 83, 93, 97) sts rem, then in every foll 4th row 3 (2, 0, 1, 0) times. 65 (75, 83, 91, 97) sts.

Work 1 row, dec 0 (1, 0, 1, 0) sts in centre. 65 (74, 83, 90, 97) sts.

Leave rem sts on a stitch-holder for Yoke.

SLEEVES

Using 4.00mm needles, cast on 63 (67, 73, 79, 87) sts.

Work 10 rows rib as given for Back and Front.

Work 2 rows stocking st.

SHAPE RAGLAN

Cast off 2 (2, 2, 2, 3) sts at beg of next 2 rows. 59 (63, 69, 75, 81) sts. Dec one st at each end of next row, then in every foll alt row until 51 (51, 49, 55, 57) sts rem, then in every foll 4th row 3 (2, 0, 1, 0) times. 45 (47, 49, 53, 57) sts.

Work 1 row.

Leave rem sts on a stitch-holder for Yoke.

YOKE

Join raglan seams. Slip sts onto a 4.00mm circular needle, beg at left back raglan seam. 220 (242, 264, 286, 308) sts.

ROUND 1: RS – Knit.

ROUND 2: * K8 (9, 10, 11, 12), K2tog, rep from * to end.198 (220, 242, 264, 286) sts.

ROUND 3, 4 AND 5: Knit.

ROUND 6: * K9, K2tog, rep from * to end. 180 (200, 220, 240, 260) sts.

ROUND 7, 8 AND 9: Knit.

ROUND 10: * K8, K2tog, rep from * to end. 162 (180, 198, 216, 234) sts.

ROUND 11, 12 AND 13: Knit.

ROUND 14: * K7, K2tog, rep from * to end. 144 (160, 176, 192, 208) sts.

ROUND 15, 16, 17 AND 18: Knit.

ROUND 19: * K6, K2tog, rep from * to end. 126 (140, 154, 168, 182) sts.

ROUND 20, 21, 22 AND 23: Knit.

ROUND 24: * K12, K2tog, rep from * to end. 117 (130, 143, 156, 169) sts.

ROUND 25: Knit, dec 1 (0, 1, 0, 1) sts. 116 (130, 142, 156, 168) sts. Change to 3.25mm circular needle for Neckband.

NEXT ROUND: * K1, P1, rep from

* to end.

Rep last round 9 times. 10 rounds rib in all.

Cast off loosely in rib.

MAKING UP

Do not press. Join side and sleeve seams.
