Ladies approx 56cm Mens approx 59cm
TENSION
As per Patons Inca wool
WORKING PATTERN
Using 7mm needles loosely cast on 74 (78) sts
ROW 1: K2 * P2, K2, repeat from * to end of row
ROW 2: P2 * K2, P2, repeat from * to end of row
These 2 rows form rib pattern.
Continue in rib pattern until work measures approx 19 (21) cm from beginning ending with a 2nd row.
SHAPE CROWN
ROW 1: K2tog,*P2, K2tog, repeat from * to end of row 55 (58) sts
ROW 2: P1, * K2, P1, repeat from
* to end
ROW 3: K1, * P2, K1, repeat from
* to end
ROW 4: P1, *K2, P1, repeat from
* to end
ROW 5: K1 * P2tog, K1, repeat from * to end of row 37 (39) sts
ROW 6: P1,* K1, P1, repeat from
* to end
ROW 7: K1, * P1, K1, rep to end
ROW 8: P1, *K1, P1, rep from * to end
ROW 9: K1, * K2tog, repeat from * to end of row 19 (20) sts
ROW 10: P1 (0), * P2 tog, repeat from * to end 10 (10) sts.
Leaving a long end break off yarn and thread through remaining stitches. Draw up tightly and fasten off securely.
Using a wool needle join seam using backstitch, reversing seam for first 6 cm to form brim.
