CANYON UPDATE THE LUX

Back in 2013 we spied the Canyon Lux being used by Topeak-Ergon rider Alban Lakata, ahead of the Cape Epic in South Africa. That bike was released later that year and ridden to many race victories and podiums by Canyon team riders and Canyon owners around the world.

Time’s change, and Canyon have released a new Lux, something that you might have spied under riders like Pauline Ferrand-Prevot, Mathieu van der Poel, or Lakata and his Canyon Topeak Factory Team team mates riding and racing since the start of the year.

With 100mm of travel, room for two full sized bottles, routing for a stealth dropper and slacker geometry – the Canyon Lux ticks some of the key boxes for a crosscountry full-suspension bike. An increase in reach and reworked suspension to make use of a metric 210x55 shock delivers a low leverage ratio and low operating pressure. The suspensions iver very efficient and on some first rides it climbs and descends with aplomb!

The SLX carbon frame is said to come in at 1662g in a medium (without shock), and the SL models come specced with 110mm forks, while the SLX models come with 100mm to keep it racy. With a 70 degree head angle this should keep the handling tight on the race spec models, while opening up options with the longer travel fork on the SL models to kick the angles back.
