UPGRADE TO 12-SPEED AT A FRACTION OF THE COST WITH E13!

-

If you’re sitting at home looking at all the flash bikes coming out with SRAM Eagle 12-speed drivetrains, or lusting after Shimano’s new XTR M9100, you might feel a bit behind. But there would be more bikes with 11, or even 10-speed drivetrains on the trails than those with the huge spread that 12-speed offers.

E13 have added to their TRS+ cassette range, bringing out a whole upgrade kit that can transform your current SRAM GX, X1, X01 and XX1 11-speed bikes to 12-speed. The kit has everything you need including the 9-46t cassette that offers a 511% range. It comes with the tools, grease, housing, chain, new springs, bolts, bearings, spacers and fixtures – absolutely everything you require to transform a SRAM 11-speed drivetrain to a super-wide 12-speed drivetrain.

Not only does the E13 upgrade kit save you the cost of a group set upgrade, it saves weight and has a broader range than SRAM Eagle. E13 also state that thanks to using a 9-46 range, you can use a slightly smaller chainring and a shorter chain, saving more weight. The lower jockey wheel will also be higher than on an Eagle drivetrain, adding ground clearance and potentially increasing durability.

Best of all, the E13 TRS 12-speed cassette weighs just 336 grams and has replaceable steel and aluminium clusters for long-term solutions when parts wear out. E13 also claim that the 9-46 cassette is compatible with SRAM Eagle drivetrains.

The whole kit sells for $469.95, and while it has everything you need included, we suspect you’ll still need some mechanical nous to do the upgrade. But that is exactly what your trusted local bike store is for. Given the options for mountain bike drivetrains continues to grow, we think this is a great upgrade in terms of price and performance, and we look forward to the opportunity to try one out once they arrive on our shores.
