1 SPANK 350 VIBROCORE RIMS

Spank’s Vibrocore rims have a low profile cross section and 30mm internal wide rim – getting the right mix of lateral rigidty with vertical compliance. This means a wheel built with these rims tracks better and has better comfort at the bars. The Vibrocore inner also transmits way less vibration to the rider for less fatigue and more control. Linksports have just landed rims in black in both 27.5” and 29” sizes, and expect the coloured options by the end of the year! RRP: $139.95 linksports.com.au

2 IXS HACK YOUTH GUARDS

Thanks to iXS, finding quality protective gear for young rippers is no longer a problem. The iXS Hack is a tough pad designed for hardcore groms aged 5 and up. With two retention straps and good coverage for the knee and elbow it offers good protection without hindering flexibility. These are landing from November. RRP: $70 for elbows, $80 for knees linksports.com.au

3 BZ OPTICS PHO RANGE

BZ Optics haven’t released eyewear as a hommage to a Vietnamese soup, but instead it’s a photochromatic range that works across all light conditions. Even better, BZ Optics PHO range can be fitted with bifocals. This is pretty handy when you need to switch from reading your GPS to then reading trail features way down the trail, all in mixed light conditions. The frames are light and adaptable to many face shapes – making these some truly versatile eyewear. RRP: $200 for bifocal, or $129 without bzoptics.com

4 KINEKT ISOLATION SEAT POST

In an age where the only kind of moving seatpost is usually a dropper post, a suspension seatpost still makes sense for adventure bikes and gravel bikes. The new Kinekt 2.1 and 3.1 (alloy and carbon respectively) are sleek, have 12mm of setback and are tuneable to a rider’s weight with 6 spring combinations. They come in 27.2mm, 30.9mm and 31.6mm with shims for other sizes. RRP: $315, or $499 for carbon gravitysporthq.com.au

5 MAXXIS MINIONS WITH EXO+

The ever-popular Maxxis Minion DHF and DHRII combination are now available with the all-new EXO+ protection. This new casing is ideal for fast trail riders and riders looking for a more supple enduro tyre. The tyres have a SilkShield layer underneath an EXO protection layer, and Maxxis claim a 27% increase in puncture protection under the tread, and a 51% increase for sidewall durability compared to a standard EXO protection tyre. We’ve got a set ready to mount up and test for our next issue to see how it pans out on the trail. 2.4” and 2.5” tyres are in stock now, with 2.6-3.0” tyres arriving in early November, including the popular Rekon. RRP: From $99.95 kwtimports.com.au
