SRAM GUIDE ULTIMATE BRAKES

-

While SRAM ditched the Avid name last year for the release of the new Guide brakes, they’ve brought back the Ultimate moniker for their recently released halo model. The new Guide Ultimate is based off the same lever design as the current Guide RSC, but steps things up with a carbon fibre lever blade and Titanium hardware. Weight drops to just 360 grams for a single brake with 160mm rotor. SRAM have also introduced the Bleeding edge system that promises easier bleeds with far greater consistency. Watch out Shimano, SRAM are here to prove a point! The real difference however is at the redesigned 4-piston calliper. The insulated aluminium pistons employ a composite core, which along with the new rubber seals, better airflow and a clever Heat Shield, helps to keep the brake running cooler to eliminate fade on long descents. RRP: $249.95 per end (rotors sold separately) Contact: www.monzaimports.com.au/cycling
