Towe of strength

The Nissan and Sierra domination of the Heritage Touring Cars category was broken when 25 cars from the Group A and C era hit the track at the Sydney Retro Speedfest over May 3-4. David Towe (JPS BMW M3) took pole and the first two of four races, before a blown head gasket sidelined him for the weekend. Normality resumed when Carey McMahon (HR31 Skyline) won races three and four and a pair of fastest laps to boot. The HTC’s next appearance is at the Historic Racing Car Club of Queensland’s Morgan Park meeting over July 12-13.
