Something old, something new

Australian Muscle Car - - Mini Muscle -

Biante Model Cars has borrowed something from both the blue and red corners in creating funky new models with famous retro schemes to celebrate its own major milestone. Biante released the 1:18 scale 1971 Bathurstwinning XY GT-HO Phase III in 1998 and the 1972 Bathurst-winning LJ Torana GTR XU-1 the following year, so it’s a nice way for the company to celebrate its 20th anniversary of producing Australian model cars by replicating these famous liveries on the Supercars based off the last locally-produced Aussie cars. Both the Holdens and Fords pick up more than just the liveries from the originals. The Commodore has the worn-away bit of the windscreen sunstrip from the wipers that worked so hard in 1972. The Ford has a GT badge in the grille. We know these retro-styled models aren’t to everyone’s tastes, but they are a nice nod to the past. The 1:18 models are $195.00 each and the 1:43 versions $69.95. The FGX Falcon will form part of the Biante Allan Moffat Collection, with the 1:18 model including a signed Certi cate of Authenticity by Allan himself. Meantime, 1:18 VF Commodore model will form part of the Biante Peter Brock Collection. Get your order in soon at your friendly model shop, or at
