The Aussie Muscle Car Run is the Leukaemia Foundation’s annual leisure car cruise to help raise funds for all Australians living with blood cancer. The AMCR started in 2012 and was born and bred in South Australia. It has raised more than $2.4 million.

The Run is open to muscle cars of the golden era of Bathurst – cars built between 1963 and 1977 – and will this year take 60 teams on a seven day, 1867 kilometre adventure.

Setting out from Adelaide, cars will cruise through Fleurieu Penninsula, to Tailem Bend, Mildura, Renmark, Wilpena Pound, Barossa Valley, and nally back to Adelaide.

Entrants must fundraise an additional $4000 (minimum) per car entry, in addition to the entry fee.

Leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma are types of blood cancer. Blood cancer and related disorders can develop in anyone, at any age, at any time.

More than 60,000 Australians are living with blood cancer or related disorders, and the equivalent of one person every 41 minutes is diagnosed.

Although research is improving survival, sadly an Australian loses their life to blood cancer every two hours. Blood cancers claim more lives than breast cancer or melanoma.

The Leukaemia Foundation is the only national charity dedicated to helping more Australians with leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma and related disorders survive their blood cancer and live a better quality of life.
