Top 10 Camaros
Camaros in Australian motorsport
The top 10 Camaros to have graced Australian race tracks over the years.
HSV’s right-hand drive Chevrolet Camaro is here. The right-hook American muscle coupe will help ll the GM void left in the local muscle car market following the exit of the locally-manufactured Holden Commodore, and provide a V8-powered alternative to the Mustang. Whether or not the Camaro joins the Mustang in Supercars racing remains to be seen. But even if a Supercars version of the Camaro does not materialise, there’s a chance we’ll see one or two in GT sports car racing, competing in events like the Bathurst 12 Hour. With this issue being themed around ‘Camaros in Australia’ it’s appropriate for us to look back at some of the more legendary Camaros to have graced our racetracks over the years. We begin with the most legendary of all.
