Johnson/Bowe Falcon EB/F – 94 Bathurst/95 ATCC

DJR chassis EB5 had been debuted by John Bowe early in 1994 but became the lead Johnson/Bowe #17 car for Bathurst – where it triumphed after a dramatic nal-laps showdown between Bowe and a young kid named Craig Lowndes. The following year Bowe used it to win the ATCC – before writing it off in a high-speed shunt at Phillip Island in ‘96. From there the EB/EF went to Falcon heaven – which is a shame, because aside from its Bathurst and championship success, it remains one of Johnson’s favourite racecars – according to Dick, the most perfect car he’d ever driven at Bathurst.
