Lowndes/Whincup Falcon BA – 2006 Bathurst

T his, chassis 888-010, was the BA in which Lowndes kicked off his time at Triple Eight. It famously incurred a smashed windscreen at Bathurst in ’05 when it hit an errant tyre, leaving Lowndes and codriver Yvan Muller to struggle on in a windowless Falcon on a chilly day in which the temp never reached double gures. Lowndes made amends the following year with a dominant performance alongside Jamie Whincup to claim an emotional Bathurst victory barely a month after passing of Peter Brock. It was updated to BF specs for 2007, with Lowndes and Whincup combining to win the Sandown 500.
