Winterbottom/Richards Falcon FG – 2013 Bathurst

In 2013 it had been ve years since a Ford won the Great Race. This statistical anomaly was partly due to Triple Eight’s defection to Holden along with Ford Performance Racing’s consistent failure to deliver on the Mountain. But that was about to change. Mark Winterbottom debuted a new chassis (FPR1214) in the ’13 championship and at Hidden Valley it was good enough to end a 12-month losing streak for ‘Frosty’. But then came Bathurst, where Winterbottom nally scored his (and FPR’s) rst Great Race win, alongside former full-time teammate Steven Richards.
