What is it?

“It’s an original two-owner Adelaide-delivered HK Monaro GTS 327.”

When did you buy it?

“November 11, 1993.”

Why did you buy it?

“The rst owner purchased it brand new from Claridge Motors in Adelaide on February 5, 1969, and it was all original with heaps of records and spares. I met him and loved the car, so I bought it. I have now owned it for 25 years.”

How does it go?

“Like a 327 Monaro should… awesome!”

Anything you’d like to add?

“It’s had just two owners for about a quarter century each. It’s a classic old car with an enormous amount of records and spares. See the old photo of four Monaros lined up in about 1969; mine is the last one on the right, no driver, as he took the photo. I competed in ve Adelaide Grand Prix Rallies and the 1995 Targa Tasmania in it. It’s now retired, sitting in my shed. It’s only been shown once at the inaugural Monaro Nationals in Bathurst in 2000 and got third prize for best original Monaro. It was used by GM-H as a promotional vehicle for the new Monaro launch. Maybe it’s time for a new caretaker. I’m getting old!”
