ED: Assuming it is the car in question, the dealership actually got it wrong in saying that it was built for Bathurst and never raced. The Bob Morris/John Fitzpatrick Falcon (which was originally meant for Morris’ Seiko Watches/ Channel Seven team-mate Alan Jones, but Jones disliked the car so much after testing it for the rst time that he switched to a Mazda RX7), did race – and was victorious on debut, with Bob Morris driving it to a solo win in Oran Park’s round of the 1982 Australian Endurance Championship. It went on to be crashed in practice for Bathurst for Fitzpatrick, and couldn’t be repaired in time for the race (Morris instead cheekily taking his place on the sixth grid spot – the fastest Falcon quali er – with a plastic chair, steering wheel in hand and four race wheels placed around him.
