How to make your dreams a reality by Editor Steve Jones.

Dreams are free! I hear this all to common saying all the time but it’s not without conditions. Yes, we all love to dream of what we want in life. A fitter leaner body, becoming a millionaire, buying a fancy car or at a personal level finding the perfect partner in life. The big question is, how do we turn those dreams into reality?

Taking a single thought and transforming it into something real and tangible is indeed a gift that we all have inside us. The secret to achieving this “Dream to Reality” can be defined with a single world “Action”. You could say that action is indeed the missing link between making any dream into reality. Sounds simple right? Well, it is. However, it appears to be the Achilles heel for many that dream of grand things but fail to make them a reality.

Have you heard the saying “Actions speak louder than words?” I am pretty sure you have. Whether we think those words (Dream them) or speak them makes little difference. It’s action that converts these mental or verbal words into reality. So, enough gibber jabber. How do we convert our dreams into real-life achievements? Plain and simple.... ACTION!

Put pen to paper

Writing your dreams or goals down on paper is the first step to actually bringing them into the real-world. You are essentially taking a thought from your mind and bringing it to life. There it is, in writing right there in front of you!

Start small and work up!

The reason why most folk fail to realize their dreams is because they think too big too soon. We need to start with small actions because all the small things we do on a day to day basis add up to big things over a period of time.

When writing down your dreams and goals you need to break it down into a step by step plan to enable you to get from A to B in the shortest possible time. You need a plan. For example if one of your dreams is to lose 10kilos don’t just write “lose 10 kilos”. Be precise, include the steps that you are going to have to take to achieve that goal in good time. E.g Clean up your diet, increase your workout intensity, add some cardio work.

Write all the steps you feel are required under your main Dream/Goal. This will be your blue print to success and will hold you accountable by providing clear “Actions” that need to be deployed to make it all a reality.

Act on the small things

Everything you do, your day to day actions have either a positive or negative ripple that influences your future success. The small things do count! Pay attention to detail, get use to actually “Acting” on day to day things instead of just letting them slip. The more you “Act” on the small things the easier it will become to make the big things a reality.

Positive Energy

The health and fitness industry is full of cliché quotes about staying positive. One of my favorite is “you are what you think”. Just like the old “You are what you eat”. Look at your thoughts as food/nutrition for your brain. You continually put bad thoughts in what do you expect to get out? You guessed it....and it’s all bad!

Clear your mind of all the things that kill positive energy. Anger, jealously, envy, and bitterness kill positive energy dead. Why? Because your energy is beingwasted, directed outwards instead of inwards. I see this all too often in the fitness industry. Focus on becoming the absolute best that “YOU” can be. If you see someone that has something that your aspire to, compliment them on their achievements and pick their brains for knowledge.

We all seek success in life, whether it’s financial, physical or emotional. We are all human, in a way we are connected by the same driving force to live life to it’s fullest, to dream big and make those dreams a reality.

To make this all happen it takes team work. No one person has ever made it on their own. Those that think they can be a one man or one woman show will always fall short of realizing their dreams and goals. We need each other to succeed!

Inspiration usually comes from others, especially in the fitness world. You see someone with an amazing body or someone that has achieved great things in life and they “Drive” you or “Inspire” you to do what? Take Action!

Success is both inspirational and contagious. All you have to do is start acting on your dreams so you too can connect the dots between your mental pictures to make it all a reality!
