SIX LENSES TO BOOST YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY PROWESS

-

01 X-T30 BUNDLED LENS

The X-T30 is available in a kit with a Fujinon XC 15-45mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS PZ lens for around $50 more than its body-only price. It’s as light in your pocket as it is on the camera, but this is a result of the mostly plastic construction that feels at odds with the premium X-T30.

02 X-T30 TRAVEL LENS

Your best bet for a single, do-it-all Fujifilm travel lens is the 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 WR LM R OIS. It’s pricey at $799, but you get weather sealing, excellent autofocusing, and class-leading image stabilisation.

03 OM-D E-M10 III BUNDLED LENS

The E-M10 III’s kit lens adds $198 to its body-only price, and for that you don’t get much lens, but in a good way. This M.Zuiko Digital ED 14-42mm 1:3.5-5.6 EZ ‘pancake’ lens is just that: incredibly flat, at only 22.5cm long when retracted, and it’s a featherweight 93g.

04 OM-D E-M10 III TRAVEL LENS

Olympus makes a 12-200mm superzoom lens, but it’s big, pricey and optical quality is lacking. Panasonic Micro Four Thirds lenses are compatible with Olympus cameras, so for $649 a better choice would be the Panasonic 14-140mm f/3.5-5.6 II ASPH OIS.

05 A6400 BUNDLED LENS

For $155 on top of the a6400’s body-only price, it can be bundled with a basic 16-50mm lens. However, a more versatile travel lens is Sony’s 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 OSS.

06 A6400 TRAVEL LENS

Sony offers 18-200mm options with even more zoom, and they’ll set you back big bucks. But for $679 you could have the ultimate Sony-compatible travel lens: the Sigma 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS HSM | C. Not only does it have a huge zoom, but image quality is great. It’s quite the bargain, really.
