The CWA con­tin­ues to pro­vide good old-fash­ioned culi­nary ad­vice to the next gen of home bak­ers with the handy tome Ev­ery­thing I Know About Cook­ing I Learned from the Coun­try Women’s As­so­ci­a­tion of NSW (Mur­doch Books, $16.99). With more than just scones and mar­ble cake on of­fer (don’t panic, they’re in there too), the recipes run the gamut from chilli nuts and prawn curry to Nor­we­gian sour cream cake, but all in­clu­sions have a calo­ries-be-damned cosi­ness you’d ex­pect from this ven­er­a­ble as­so­ci­a­tion.
