Art and about
The same steadily flowing water that carved Carnarvon Gorge out of sandstone has drawn people to it for many thousands of years and you can trace this rich history and spiritual significance to Traditional Owners the Karingbal and Bidjara people today through its remarkable engravings, freehand paintings and ochre stencils. Don’t miss them at the Art Gallery, home to a 62-metre-long sandstone wall of some 2000 artworks, and at Cathedral Cave.
