If you do three things…

-

1 CAPE TO CAPE TRACK

This 130-kilometre (five- to seven-day) walk traverses the ridge and beaches of Leeuwin Naturaliste National Park , following the coast from Cape Naturaliste to Cape Leeuwin. It takes in incredible views of sea and landscapes including wildflowers in spring and the Indian Ocean. If you fancy dipping in for the highlights, you can; short walks along the track are easily accessed and include some of the best bits like the three-kilometre Cape Naturaliste to Sugarloaf Rock leg.

2 BORANUP DRIVE

One of the country’s most stunning drives is found here in Leeuwin Naturaliste National Park . The Boranup Drive meanders and undulates for 14 kilometres through the majestic Boranup Karri Forest. Feel utterly dwarfed as you pass under the towering karri trees that reach heights of 50 metres and more, and gawp at the beauty in spring as wildflowers grow tangled among the forest floor. Be sure to stop at the lookout for sweeping forest views.

3 HIT THE SURF

With spots like Smiths Beach and Redgate Beach, the rugged coastline of Leeuwin-Naturaliste is home to some of the best surfing in the state. Top tip? If you’re here on a surfing pilgrimage check into the Injidup Surf Shack , a characterful holiday home in the heart of the park with ready access to the renowned surf break at Injidup Beach. Learners and beginners can sign up with the likes of Yallingup Surf School and Margaret River Surf School.
