PASSION FOR fine dining is taken to mouthwatering new heights at LUMINAE, the elegant private dining experience reserved exclusively for guests of THE RETREAT. Combining the genius of Celebrity Cruises’ Global Culinary Brand Ambassador with Michelin-starred chefs Daniel Boulud and Cornelius Gallagher (Celebrity’s own), Luminae’s menu – unavailable anywhere else on the ship and always revolving so that each dish will only ever be seen once over a two-week period – is as eclectic as it is modern. Dishes such as Maine lobster tagliatelle, truffle riso o and Alaskan halibut are designed to delight and tantalise, while Chef Boulud, best known for his NYC restaurant Daniel, has designed a range of complimentary signature dishes with a focus on creating a heavenly pairing between food and wine. Signature dishes Luminae guests can look forward to include a chilled carrot and ginger veloute with prawns, coriander and lime, and a Moroccan chicken tagine with saffron couscous with preserved lemon and olives. Happily, the signature Luminae burger – a pa y topped with cheddar and bacon-onion jam, served with truffle fries – is a constant in this elegant space otherwise subject to fascinating variables. Perhaps what surprises most guests to the fleet’s highest-rated restaurant, however, isn’t the printed menu but the ability to go rogue and eat as your heart desires. Five-star service, too, is never out of sight and staff are trained to memorise your preferences so you’ll get a customised (and thus, lobster-heavy) experience every time you dine.
