No one commits to TIME TRAVEL quite like Rangelands Outback Camp, a LUXURY property eager to take you back some 95 MILLION years.

IT’S A RARE PERSON who, in 2022, doesn’t wish to turn back the clock and travel to a simpler time.

True, you were probably thinking more like 2019, but John Stainton, the TV producer and director behind The Crocodile Hunter franchise, is keen to transport you all the way back to a time when Outback Australia was an ocean and planet Earth was inhabited by dinosaurs of all shapes and sizes. Suffice to say, this isn’t a ‘Let’s take the DeLorean’ situation;

Stainton’s method of time travel is far more elegant, appearing in the form of his all-new Rangelands Outback Camp (rangelandscamp.com), a luxury property located in the heart of Dinosaur Country, which some say was 95 million years in the making.

Here, six luxurious tents lie in wait to transport guests to another time, but in a manner that caters to 21st-century desires for ultimate style and comfort. “I’ve been in love with Winton since I first began visiting in 1992,” admits Stainton. “I’ve been bringing friends out here for the last 20 years so that they, too, could immerse themselves in that same feeling of wonder.” Guests can expect a large (and – happily – air-conditioned) luxury tent complete with designer comforts as well as an in-house ‘restaurant’ that highlights dishes steeped in outback culture.

What’s most likely to leave a lasting impression on guests, however, is a feeling of being one with the sky, explains Stainton. “When you’re sitting on the deck and watching the sky bathe the land in a glowing pink light, or when you’re gazing at millions of twinkling stars you feel like the whole sky becomes a part of your life,” he explains.

“You will spend every minute of every day here in awe of nature.” Tours offered by Rangelands Outback Camp have been carefully curated to showcase the best of what the region has to offer, with Stainton advising Tours One and Two (of seven) are best served with
