BALONNE dancers wowed the crowd at the Ballet on Broadway recital at the weekend.
The recital, themed “Through the Glass”, was in celebration of Maranoa Performing Arts 10th year of operation.
MPA principle Fiona Gaske said the performance was a tribute to the Balonne.
“It has been a very exciting build up to our concert and we are extremely grateful to our sponsors,” she said.
“In putting together the items for this year's concert, I reflected on how we had grown together over the last few years.
“I wanted to examine our ‘reflection’ but also the view of the future, and in doing so, celebrate the classical skills and technique that has been acquired by our students.
“As I examined the view through the glass, I also wanted to pay tribute to the river, which is an iconic part of our shire. I believe that it gathers the community together - in the same way that we are gathered for this special event.”
Both boys and girls danced their way through multiple numbers, with jazz pieces interspersed with the ballet.
Kim Kirkman was the guest performer on the evening.
The dancers got together for one last snap.
