Driver dies, passenger airlifted
ONE man has died and another person was seriously injured in a single-vehicle accident on Wednesday morning.
Emergency services were called just after 11am, after reports of a car hitting a tree.
The accident happened 60km from Dalby, 10km southwest of the intersection of Moonie Highway and Surat–Developmental Rd.
QPS Media said the male driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
A QFES spokesman said hydraulic cutting tools were required to free the male driver and female passenger from the vehicle.
The female passenger, in her 20s, was airlifted by RACQ LifeFlight to Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious but stable condition, according to a Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman.
The QAS spokesman said the passenger had suffered injuries to her face and neck.
The accident is being investigated.
