The Ti me Traveller’s Wife

Balonne Beacon - - LIFE -

Sunday, eleven, 8.30pm, M (2009)

This adaptation of Audrey Niffenegger’s popular novel explores the idea that two people destined to be together will always find each other, no matter the obstacles. Chicago librarian Henry DeTamble (Eric Bana) has a genetic disorder that causes him to involuntarily travel through time. Despite never knowing when he will disappear from the present and emerge, unclothed, in another stage of his life, Henry manages to build a relationship with artist Clare Abshire (Rachel McAdams, left). Her fate is both lonely and wondrous – her lover can come to her and then be whisked away without notice. Although Bana never quite matches McAdams’ luminous presence, the leads have a pleasant chemistry.
