M ad Max: Fury Road

Balonne Beacon - - LIFE TV GUIDE -

Wednesday, go!, 9.30pm, MA15+ (2015) The first thing you’ll notice about this post-apocalyptic tale, the fourth in the franchise and 30 years after the last instalment, is the lack of Mel Gibson’s name. His turn as the vengeful Max in the early ’80s catapulted him to the bright lights of Hollywood, but while the director (George Miller) has stayed the same, Fury Road brings us a whole new generation of gun-totting, car-smashing rebels hell-bent on revenge. Tom Hardy is the eponymous Max while Charlize Theron (pictured) is his rebel in arms, Furiosa. Both are troubled and both must fight across a stark desert landscape to restore order. Big, brash and bold, Max is certainly back w ith gusto.
