Balonne’s seniors return the love

Balonne Beacon - - NEWS / WELCOME -

PROCEEDS from the last four Balonne Seniors games were generously donated this week to an organisation close to the group’s heart.

St George Healthy Aging met with Life Flight on Tuesday to present a cheque for $500.

Secretary Colleen Faulkner said the donation was a personal move for the group of seniors.

“One of our committee members is having to use Angel Flights at the moment.

“As a matter of fact she has just taken off.”

The proceeds were from seniors games, which are held once a year and welcome teams from all over the southwest.

“It’s a great day for the elderly,” Colleen said. “We’re a very small, not for profit organisation and we couldn’t do this without the help of wonderful service clubs and the support from local businesses.”
