Fire de­stroys bowls club

THE OLD Dir­ran­bandi Bowls club was de­stroyed by fire last Wed­nes­day. Queens­land Fire and Emer­gency Ser­vices, Queens­land Am­bu­lance and Dir­ran­bandi po­lice crews were called to the scene at 3.09am, be­fore the fire was con­tained around around 4.30am. Po­lice are treat­ing the fire as sus­pi­cious and are con­tin­u­ing with their in­ves­ti­ga­tions.

Early morn­ing drink drive

A MORN­ING drive has landed one St Ge­orge woman in hot wa­ter. The 49-year-old fe­male was ar­rested at 6.30am on Satur­day morn­ing.

Po­lice al­lege she was driv­ing her ve­hi­cle down Grey Street, St Ge­orge while un­der the in­flu­ence.

She will face the St Ge­orge Mag­is­trate on De­cem­ber 11.

Roo rack goes miss­ing

A ROO rack has been stolen from a St Ge­orge prop­erty last month.

The in­ci­dent oc­curred at West Haran House at the Wood­bine prop­erty. Po­lice in­ves­ti­ga­tions are on­go­ing.

Break in at CWA

THE LO­CAL branch of the Coun­try Women’s As­so­ci­a­tion were on the un­for­tu­nate end of a break and en­ter last week.

The in­ci­dent oc­curred on Novem­ber 24. Po­lice in­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing.
