Fresh fig chut­ney

Com­ple­ment with a sticky, sweet, easy fig chut­ney us­ing fresh sea­sonal figs from a mar­ket.

SERVES 15 PREP 10 mins COOK 1 hr

100g light brown soft sugar 120ml ap­ple cider vine­gar 300g chopped fresh figs

1 ap­ple, peeled, cored and diced 1 onion, finely chopped

50g sul­tanas

1 tsp flaky sea salt

Put all the in­gre­di­ents in a pan and bring to a gen­tle sim­mer for 1 hr, un­cov­ered, stir­ring oc­ca­sion­ally un­til it gets sticky and jammy. Spoon into a clean Kil­ner jar. That’s it. You’re done. GOOD TO KNOW ve­gan • low fat • gluten free
