De­li­cious car­away seed cake

Natasha Illing­worth ‘I started mak­ing this car­away cake for my step­dad. His mum used to make it and it’s still his favourite. It took a while to get the tem­per­a­ture and cook­ing time right, but I think I’ve per­fected it now; it gets a nice crisp top, with­out be­ing burnt, and is lovely and soft in­side. I’ve man­aged to con­vert other fam­ily mem­bers who ini­tially thought car­away seed cake was a strange idea!’
