Vadasz raw kimchi
(400g), £4.50, M&S
We bet even those who are on the fence about kimchi will love this – it has just the right amount of spice and acidity without being overwhelming. Try it in everything from fritters, pancakes and scrambled eggs, to fried rice and cheese toasties.
Moving Mountains plant-based mince
(260g), £4.50, Ocado Super meaty in both taste and texture, this is an impressive plant-based alternative. Great for ragus, lasagne and noodle dishes.
En Root’s Raja Bonnet hot sauce
(250ml), £5, enrootldn.co.uk Using iery scotch bonnet, Kesar mango
and Gujarati spices, this packs a real punch spice-wise but it’s nicely balanced out by sweet, fruity mango, warming
spices and a good level of acidity.
Tim’s Dairy ke ir
(450g), £2.20, Waitrose & Partners Ke ir is a fermented milk product packed full of gut-friendly live cultures. Although usually very sour, this Greek-style version is smooth and creamy, plus it’s lactose-free, so great for those with allergies. Try topped with granola or whizzed in smoothies.
Scottish heather honey
(340g), £10.49, scottishbeecompany.co.uk
This unique honey has a rich caramel lavour without being sickly sweet. It makes a delicious
addition to a Burns Night cranachan, or try it spooned
onto yogurt with fruit and
granola, or stirred through a warming bowl
of porridge.
Helen Browning’s organic corned beef
(150g), £5, helenbrowningsorganic.co.uk Many of us have childhood memories of corned beef – and not always good ones! But this is di erent. Made from British grass-fed beef, this is cured, cooked, pulled and set in its own juices and has a soft, buttery texture that melts in the mouth.
