The Bordeaux region is where it all started for James Martin as a young trainee in the Michelin-starred Hostellerie de Plaisance, Saint-émilion, and he’s been coming back to this beautiful part of France ever since.
On this eight-night journey, James will share his love of the area in an exclusive talk, a French classics cooking demonstration and gourmet tour of Bordeaux, before designing and cooking a very special gala dinner alongside Uniworld’s French executive chefs.
Also on this fabulous foodie experience will be wine expert, writer and BBC Saturday Kitchen regular Susy Atkins, who will take part in tastings of the region’s inest clarets with you and select the wines to pair with your special gala dinner.
Setting sail from Bordeaux, you’ll discover the Unesco-listed citadel in Blaye where you can do yoga in the heart of the fortress. You’ll experience some of the Medoc’s inest wineries and chateaux, take in Saint-émilion, Cadillac and Pauillac, sample cheeses, bread and fruits of Libourne’s famous farmer’s market and visit no less than three UNESCO World Heritage sites.
