France is still ‘the food destination that has it all’, according to chef and TV presenter James Martin, who will join you on this eight-day Rhône cruise from Arles to Lyon, along with wine expert and columnist Susy Atkins.
As you sail through Provence and Burgundy, you will visit some wonderful destinations, including Chalon-sur-saône, Avignon, Arles and Viviers. You’ll visit the vineyards of Tournon, enjoy a special Provencale dinner cooked by a local chef, while James will give a live on-board cooking demonstration, with a talk and Q&A session, plus you’ll enjoy an on-board wine lecture with Susy Atkins. James will also prepare a special gala dinner on your final night, with wine pairings selected by Susy Atkins.
You will discover the winemaking tradition of Chalon-sur-saône and the splendid Burgundy it produces, taste some of the region’s finest olives and cheese, and guests will also enjoy a special Provençale dinner, celebrating the region’s cuisine, hosted by an expert local chef.
Your Star-ship, Emerald Liberté, is custom-built to navigate the Rhône and Saône rivers. You can relax on the sun-decks, in the spa or in the on-board heated pool with retractable roof, and in the evening, enjoy it as a cinema. Plus, there are plenty of fine dining options to choose from, such as the refined Reflections Restaurant, as well as bar areas.
