Outside of the UK, festive meals vary greatly. Judie Brewer from Canada enjoys a Ukrainian feast of pierogis filled with cheese, onion and potatoes served with soured cream and bacon. Adam Parker from Hamar, Norway has an English-norwegian fusion of pigs in blankets, ribbe (pork belly with sauerkraut and veg), ham roast and fenalår (cured leg of lamb). And, for the winter solstice, Clare Hawkins from Crockerton, Bath serves root veg pie with a yule log and sloe gin for dessert.
