BAR DICTIONARY: MARTINI GLASS

-

This iconic glass is a larger version

of a classic cocktail one – both have a thin stem and conical bowl.

The martini glass is larger with a longer stem, but they can be used interchangeably. The stem keeps the drink away from warm hands, which is especially useful for drinks made with (but served without) ice. The shape also supports garnishes and stops ingredients from separating.

Clever stuff.
