SUGARED PRIMROSES
If you have primroses in your garden, preserve their beauty by crystalising the flower heads with sugar. They make the most exquisite edible decoration for cakes. Simply whisk an egg white, brush it over the surface of the petals, sprinkle with caster sugar and leave on baking parchment overnight at room temperature. They’ll keep in an airtight container for up to a month, but their colour may start to fade after a few weeks.
